We are looking for fit and healthy optometrists to provide primary eye care for people of the Annapurna Sanctuary. You will provide eye care at the villages of Hille, and Chhomrong en-route to Annapurna Base Camp.

Day 1

PRE-TREK: Meet & Greet in Kathmandu (1330m)

The drive from the airport to the hotel is around 20 minutes. Our representative will set a time for your trek briefing. We will then show you around Thamel before enjoying cultural dinner at a fine local restaurant to formally welcome you to Nepal. 


Day 2

Fly to Pokhara & Trek to Ulleri

It is a 30 minute flight to Pokhara, which offers spectacular views of the main Himalayan chain, including the 8000m peaks of Manaslu and Annapurna. After arriving in Pokhara, we drive to NayaPul to start our journey. The trek following the ModiKhola River to Birethanti, which offers great views of the 'fish tail' Machapuchhare (6993m). Afterwards we pass through the small settlements of Matathvanti, Sudame and Hille before arriving at Ulleri. 


Day 3

Eye Testing at Ulleri

Ulleri offers a great view of the valley below. We spend an entire day performing eye tests for the Ulleri people.  


Day 4

Ulleri to Ghorepani

We ascend gradually through the beautiful forest of rhododendron and oaks and arrive in Banthanti to enjoy some tea. We have lunch at Nangethanti before making the final steep ascent to the village of Ghorepani. There are views of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South and Hiunchuli.

Day 5

Ghorepani Poon Hill to Chitre

We get up early to enjoy the sunrise over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges from Poon Hill (3210m). This is a major highlight of the trip! After breakfast it is a leisurely walk to Chitre.

Day 6 & 7

Eye Testing at Chitre 

We spend an entire day performing eye tests for the Gurung people of Chitre.


Day 8

Chitre to Chhomrong

Today we trek through the jungle and pass through many Gurung villages. We will have lunch at one of these villages before heading to Chhomrong. This charming village is home to the Gurung people and sits on the lap of Mt Hiunchuli. There is an excellent view of Mt Macchapuchare (Fishtail) and the narrow canyon of the Annapurna Sanctuary.

Day 9

Chhomrong to Doban

We head out of Chhomrong along the ModiKhola leaving behind inhabited foothills to the slopes of the Himalayas. After crossing a suspension bridge, we venture up to Sinuwa Danda. The trail also passes through rhododendron and bamboo forests on the way to Khuldighar and finally Doban.


Day 10

Doban to Deurali

Waking up to see sun rays glinting off the magnificent of Machapuchare, we'll have a relaxed start today. We will ascend slowly to Deurali, allowing us to soak in every detail of the spectacular snow-capped giants we are walking among. Spend the evening enjoying the quiet mountain atmosphere, or trying to capture that perfect sunset shot.

Day 11

Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp

We make a gentle climb through river bed followed by a steep climb over to the mountain side. The trek from Bagar to Machhapuchhre Base Camp is strenuous but the view makes it worthwhile. We can see Mt Hiunchuli, Annapurna South, I, III, Gangapurna and Fishtail. The vegetation disappears and the path widens into a bed of moraine. We are met with  the south face of Annapurna towering above us as we reach Base Camp.


Day 12

ABC to Dovan

It is time to make our way down.

Day 13

Dovan to Jhinu Danda Hot Spring

We travel from Dovan to Jhinu Hot Spring and relax. 


Day 15

Rest in Pokhara 

A free day in Pokhara to explore, shop or just take it easy. Your trek leader will be there to assist you with further sightseeing in Pokhara.


Day 14

Jhindu Danda to Nayapul, Drive to Pokhara 

From Jhindu Danda, we trek to New Bridge, Khumi village and after lunch, Syauli Bazar and descend towards Birethanti. After an hour trekwe will be at Nayapul, our pick up point. After saying farewell to our guides and porters, you will be transported by private coach to your hotel in Pokhara where you can relax and explore. 


Day 16

Fly Back to Kathmandu

We take an early flight back to Kathmandu and visit a local family run restaurant to learn to make either 'Dhal Bhat' or Momo. This is followed by a visit to the Singing Bowl Master to learn about Art of Meditation. The evening is free for you to do some more shopping and enjoy your last dinner as a team!

Day 17

Last day in Kathmandu

After breakfast there maybe time to squeeze in some sightseeing and shopping. What a way to finish our adventure! We wish you a safe journey home!
