In September 2023, Eyes4Everest and the Himalayan Trust Nepal began constructing an eye clinic at the Khunde Hospital. The clinic aimed to address primary eyecare in the Sargamatha (Everest) National Park. It was a necessary addition to the Sherpa hospital, which already had a general ward, laboratory and dental clinic.

The design and fitout of the practice was led by Eyes4Everest’s chief Nepalese optometrist - Rickchen Sherpa. The Himalayan Trust provided a carpenter, engineer, and transport of equipment and materials.

The Khunde Eye Clinic was officially opened on November 17, 2023. It was attended by the Chairman and CEO of the Himalayan Trust - Pasang Dawa Sherpa and Dr Mingma Norbu Sherpa, Eyes4Everest Founder - Shaun Chang and the Chairman of the Rural Municipality - Laxman. The Eyes4Everest 2023 team and the Heydon family also attended the opening ceremony.

During the ceremony, Dr John Heydon, a New Zealand doctor who volunteered at the Khunde Hospital between 1996 and 1998, spoke about the hospital’s limited resources for treating preventable blindness. Shaun shared the challenges Eyes4Everest faced running eye camps in 2014 and 2015. It was an emotional event, highlighting the importance of optometric care in the region.

The Khunde eye clinic is equipped with a trial lens set, digital letter chart, auto-vertometer, binocular vision tests, colour vision tests and a slit lamp. Patients have many spectacle frames, lens designs and coatings to choose from.

An ophthalmic technician will staff the eye clinic during peak season, and a nurse with experience with vision screening in the off-season. Eyes4Everest provides the staff's salary, food, accommodation and transport costs for the next five years. The Himalayan Trust Nepal will manage the administrative work.

सेप्टेम्बर 2023 मा, आइज़ 4 एभेरेस्ट र हिमालयन ट्रस्ट नेपालले खुन्दे हस्पतालमा एक आँखा क्लिनिक निर्माण गरेका थिए। क्लिनिकले सागरमाथा (एभेरेस्ट) नेसनल पार्कमा प्राथमिक आँखा उपचार सेवा प्रदान गर्नेछ। यो सुबिधा खुन्दे हस्पतालको महत्तवपूर्ण आवश्यक हो, जहां पहिले पनि सामान्य बर्ड, प्रयोगशाला, र डेन्टल क्लिनिक छन्।
